About The Symposium

The symposium event entitled Padjadjaran Earth Dialogues: International Symposium on Geophysical Issues. For short PEDISGI-2018. Two types of activities will take place; a symposium on geophysical related researches and the dialog concerning the chosen issue in geophysics.
This is a three yearly event, for each a topic for the seminaries and a certain Indonesian local issue is chosen to be discussed in a dialog. The chosen local issue or phenomena is aimed to present and promote the virtue of Indonesian geological and geophysical nature to the world This conference represents the International Conference on Environment, held periodically by University Padjadjaran.
For the first mid the second event on 2018 we take the main topic for the symposium:

“Geophysical Issues on Environment “
The dialog will present a discussion on the issue, “River: Welfare or Disaster”

Objectives

The symposium is aimed to gather Indonesian geoscientists to discuss about the subject corroborated by invited speakers from around the world. The dialog will focus on the research results and ideas on the formation of geological basin and the surrounding area. Bandung is taken as an exemplary case. The works presented in the symposium will be made public in the international journal IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science (SCOPUS indexed).
The invited speakers will come from Germany, Iceland, Argentina, and some neighboring countries, which are experts in the related subject, ranged from: Theoretical and Computational Geophysics; Geophysical Instrumentation; Near Surface Geophysics and Geotechnology; Environmental Science and Engineering; Geothermal; Soils and Sediments, River Basin Management; Volcanology and Seismology; Hazard Mitigation; Paleo-, Rock, Environmental Magnetism; Remote Sensing; Reservoir Hydrocarbon.
